The Region

Branson Cognac is produced in the Cognac region of France, specifically within the Grande Champagne , Petit Champagne, Borderies, and Fins Bois, which are renowned for their unique microclimates and terroir. The microclimates of these region contributes to the production of the worlds high-quality Cognac. The unique combination of chalky soils, temperate climate, and careful grape cultivation results in eaux-de-vie that are rich, complex, and ideal for creating premium Cognacs.

The flavor

In southwest of France, the regions of Grande Champagne, Petit Champagne, Borderies, and Fins Bois, play a crucial role in producing high-quality Cognac, while being directly attributed to the distinct flavors and aromas that make Branson Cognacs a celebrated and luxurious spirit. These regions also allows Branson to achieve a balance and complex final product, adding notes of vanilla, spice and oak.

Our Process

Branson embodies the history and knowledge with classic production techniques to produce artisanal Cognacs. The methods used in the vineyards have one singular goal and focus – harvest the best quality and purest Ugni Blanc. Once all the grapes are hand-picked, the grapes are pressed and fermented in vats. The wine is then distilled on the lees that results in elegant and fragrant aromas. Distillation is done in traditional pot stills some being many decades old. As the wine is heated, the alcohol evaporates and rises through the neck of the still and is then cooled to a liquid. This liquid is distilled again to purify it, which at that time becomes an Eaux-de-Vie.

house of style

Branson Cognacs are aged in French Oak barrels, sourced from Alliers, Limousin and Tronçais. With a mix of young and old barrels, Branson is able to give each Cognac their ideal golden brown color and allow the liquid to mature and evolve. The final step in the maturation is in the oldest oak barrels that allow the Cognac to evaporate, thus creating the angel’s share.

Aging

Exceeding Aging
Requirements

TIMIng is everything

Branson take great pride in aging all Eaux-de Vie for the Cognacs to age longer than required in order to add more complexity to the finished product. While it adds much more time to the process, and no expense is spared, we firmly believe that this is essential to producing the best Cognac.
